HireParos is one of the largest islands of the Cyclades. The
island lies within approx. 2.5 hours (with a high-speed boat) or 5 hours (normal
ferry) distance from Piraeus, with between 5 and 8 boats a day during the summer
season, and about six Olympic Airways flights per day, with a flight time of 30
minutes. The airport is 9 kilometers from Parikia (the island's capital). There
are Olympic Airway buses to transport passengers into town.
It is not difficult to understand why Paros has become firmly
established as a quality holiday destination. With picture-postcard fishing
villages, monasteries and some of the best beaches in the Aegean. Despite a
rapid growth in tourism during the past years, you can still experience every
day Greek life as there are no multi-story hotels destroying its beauty and the
hospitality and friendliness of the local people has not diminished.
